Its been months since anyone has posted. I wonder if anyone will read this. Maybe people get emails or something?
But I've decided that i should blog about my life more because i have a horrible memory. it sort of scares me how bad it is actually.
lets see. i just finished by spring semester and im pretty happy about that. I guess you could say i enjoyed my time at Mill Neck, but i have this complex where i doubt myself 24/7 so there was a lot of anxiety and poor self esteem envolved. now i have a few days off before i start the summer semesters.
i was reading some of my old posts and i have a few things to say about them.
1) when i write on this thing, im either depressing or pretty damn funny, i must say
2) I DID get my cable and my room has been painted purple
3) i still cant wait to graduate but that also means that im officially a real grown up. i have mixed feelings about that.
4) i have some interesting book references in my entries. which makes me sad because i havent really read much lately. you all know how redic that is (again, if anyone readst this)
OK so:
last night i went to ajs. we went out to dinner with his parents which was fun, but for some reason the service stank and my food really wasnt very good. and if say that seafood and pasta wasnt good, there is a real issue. then we went to his friend danny's house and hung out in the backyard playing flip cup and beer pong. there were about 12-15 people there. aj says this is a slow night lol. on a positive note, my bag was NOT stolen, as it was at one of aj's friends' super bowl party.
nothing interesting during the day today (saturday). tried to clean my room. failed miserably. its more messy than it was to begin with. i tried to switch my winter and summer clothes but decided i want to clean out my built-ins first so i can put some clothes in them. also i realized that a lot of my clothes are either out of style, wornout, or dont fit. also i have a real problem with getting my shirts stuck on things and ripping them. i got a hair cut and got my eye brows did. woot woot, aj, hot girl frieeeend. lol
so then brianne and i went to see "13" at the cultural arts playhouse. it was very cute. the cast was all teen agers, but they were very good. and of course, it was a little cheesey at times, but they managed to have something funny happening during most of those times, so it was actually a good show. i should keep the program and see if any of the kids are the next Justin Bieber in a year. it was cute that for young kids, it makes middle school seem like an exciting time, for middle schoolers (or even high schoolers) they can relate to whats going on because (other than the singing) its pretty realistic, and for older people it makes you nostalgic and laugh at how much that time of life sucks.
then we went to fridays and i had a 1800+ calorie salad. i kid you not. i could have had a buger and fries for less. but i ordered it with out the cheese and dressing on the side so that probably cut it down to about....oh...1500? lol redic!!
but we had a good time. we got to discussing safe halloween and how those were our favorite hs memories. and during this conversation the waiter came over...just as i was saying "you dont care for a baby by shoving things inside it!" seriously. gooood timmesssss. (to be clear, we were talking about how brianne had that doll project during safe halloween that one time. lol wonderfullll
so point being that i need to keep better track of my lifeeee!

A few updates because i havent posted.
1) I have been miiiiiiserable with school work. miii-hi-hi-hiserrable.
2) Its slowly getting a little better.
3) I still dont know what the hell im doing in with my 3 individual clients, 3 ei group clients, 8ish day care "clients", mistery diagnostic clients, and still unseen audiological practicum, but im starting to just accept that im not suppossed to know, and if i just keep on track ill be fine.
3a) who the hell thought it would be a good idea to make 16 people with minimal knowledge and no experience do therapy that will affect people for the rest of their lives???
3b) why is ok to make us do this on top massive amounts of school work?
4) I have realized that breaks are the key to sanity.
5) i really need to do something fun!!!

o man. i feel so much better
i HATE research papers, especially ones for a lit class that you have to completely come up with. So i was stressed out doing another research paper for my seminar in disorders and 12 other things, and when i had to do the proposal for this paper, i literally sat down for 5 minutes and burped out the first shitty idea that i could think of. and of course i had 12 other things to do lately, so this paper kept getting pushed back. so yesterday, 3 days before its due i realize that i have no idea what im doing. i sat in the library researching for hours and hours, finding close to nothing, and getting more and more in a panic. so in tear i email the teacher saying im lost, im having a hard time finding research (you would think finding books on the treatment of native americans wouldnt be that hard, especially surrounding columbus but youd be wrong) and he emailed me back this morning with a really good idea for the paper that has a bit to do with my proposal and said he would give me an extension until friday!!! im leaving to go home wednesday, so i hope i can get it done by then, but at least that gives me an extra two days. and if necessary, ill take good notes on the research and bring it home.

Yesterday was so cool...after the election, the campus literally went nuts. There were parties outside the dining hall and the student union...people of all races, friends and strangers, were huging each other, crying, dancing, bodysurfing, drinking champaign and smoking. it was really insane. I have never seen anything like it. It was better than being at the super bowl.
Although this definately didn't have anything to do with my voting choice, and even though i didnt completely agree with the all his positions (i basically just voted with the party i agreed with more, rather than the person), i still think that it is amazing to be alive and young during something with this much positive historical value. I felt really blessed that despite the fact that this isnt a definitive end to racism (i think in a way we've just moved onto another race, actally, but i wont get into that now), we can witness the progress of a people.
Earlier yesterday, i was reading the Narratives of Fredrick Douglass, a fugitive slave that wrote some of the most influencial abolitionist literature during the 19th century. I felt as if in one day, i saw a complete 180 of history. It was as if the world had fast-forwarded not just time, but human nature.
Maybe he won't be the best president we've ever had, and maybe he will. But either way, you have to admit that this has to be, at the very least, one of the most inspirational election the country has ever seen. |

so my hard drive died the other day, so now i have to buy a new one and install it and all that crap :-P

Montauk was a lot of fun. it was just me and my mom, which is always nice. we stayed at a little motel type place right on the beach, so that was fun. we also went horseback riding and im still sore lol. i have bruised knees and ass lol, despite my attempt at posting (which i obviously didnt do very well). and we went to the harbor yesterday and walked around and went to the little shops and stuff. and then today we went wine tasting and i got us a little present, which we will all enjoy soon :)

This morning my aunt Renna (my mom's brother's wife) passed away from cancer. it feels really weird, because i guess i just wanted to be positive about the situation so i didnt really prepare myself for this. the last couple of days i knew she wasnt doing well but it had been so up and down that i didnt really worry as much as i should have. and yesterday she was doing better. it just feels like its not real i guess. i cant explain it.
but they say these things come in threes, and this was 3 deaths in my family in just over 2 years. it better be the last, thats all i can say.
so im flying down to north carolina on tuesday and coming back thursday. |
